Cosplay Post Part 2
November 7, 2008
Cosmania! I was really hesitant to go to this event but, hey, my friends convinced me to go – they even paid for my entrance fee! Thank you, thank you.
Now that I’m thinking of this event, I kind of feel regretful that I didn’t wear my Freya costume. I… I… never mind. I had fun though. On with the ukay-ukay costume.
Walter and Madz
My friend Uretz asked me to help her look for a Walter costume. I think this character was from Hellsing (special thanks to Uretz who kindly informed me). She said she needed a butler costume that’ll fit her (yes, cross-dress!). She already has the pants and shoes, all we need were crisp white long sleeved polo, a vest, and black gloves. Looking for these items weren’t actually difficult – but we have to find something that fits her. Fortunately, we found what we needed – after only an hour of walking around! The polo and the vest came from ukay-ukay (of course) and the leatherette gloves came from Robinson’s Manila Department store. (more…)
Cosplay Post :)
I loved anime ever since I was a little girl. Voltes V and Sailor Moon were my “first love.” I watched almost every anime series that GMA 7, ABS-CBN, ABC 5 and IBC 13 aired. It was in my high school years when I first learned about cosplay (ooohhh… cosplay…) and since then, I wanted to participate in anime conventions – but I have no money and I don’t have anyone to accompany me to go. I don’t even know where to get costumes.
Finally, I had my chance during my third year in UP. I was exposed to Lolita goth and eventually realized that I can make up my own loli-goth costume. Yay!
Maid!
This is my first costume. I first wore it during the DSS cosplay event (my first “event!”). I also used this costume during the Mangaholix Manga Mania event last May 2008.
The white top came with a little bit of history – it was a part of my mom’s graduation dress back in high school. I found the skirt somewhere in between my closet and the shoes came from my grandma’s friend. Oh, and my grandma made the lace headband.
This isn’t actually an ukay-ukay costume (teehee…).
