Cosplay Post :)

November 7, 2008

I loved anime ever since I was a little girl. Voltes V and Sailor Moon were my “first love.” I watched almost every anime series that GMA 7, ABS-CBN, ABC 5 and IBC 13 aired. It was in my high school years when I first learned about cosplay (ooohhh… cosplay…) and since then, I wanted to participate in anime conventions – but I have no money and I don’t have anyone to accompany me to go. I don’t even know where to get costumes.

Finally, I had my chance during my third year in UP. I was exposed to Lolita goth and eventually realized that I can make up my own loli-goth costume. Yay!

Maid!

This is my first costume. I first wore it during the DSS cosplay event (my first “event!”).  I also used this costume during the Mangaholix Manga Mania event last May 2008.

The white top came with a little bit of history – it was a part of my mom’s graduation dress back in high school. I found the skirt somewhere in between my closet and the shoes came from my grandma’s friend. Oh, and my grandma made the lace headband.

    This isn’t actually an ukay-ukay costume (teehee…).

Loli-goth

I first wore this costume for our org’s Chasing Wonderland shooting. I cosplayed as Freya from Chobits (ears not included in this photo). This photo was taken during the DBS CosWalk event/competition. Oh, and I also used this costume for my graduation photo – creative shot. Yay!

I won third place in the competition (yay!), which was a surprise because the other contestants were REAL cosplayers. The other contestants cosplayed as follows: Aeris from Final Fantasy VII, Ruby Rose (eh? I’m not sure), a male a character from Prince of Tennis (sorry, I didn’t watch this series), Tobi from Naruto (he won third place), a super-ultra-ultimate loli-goth girl (she won first place), a character from one of the Persona 3 (a game I think), and a character I don’t know (sorry!).

I borrowed the top from my boyfriend (he said the top came from the Middle East). The lace-y skirt was from an ukay-ukay shop in Monumento, thick black stockings from a department store, black socks with lace sewn on (I made it myself!), black lace choker (I made it myself too!), and a satin headband with big ribbon.

To be continued…
