Ukay Trip
December 14, 2008Last week…
I got frustrated because of a very, very pretty shoe from People are People. Liz showed me the pair of black mary janes she bought from PareP and I fell in love! Since I just got paid from teaching, I went to get my own pair and to my dismay, they don’t have my size anymore. So I vowed that I’ll buy myself a pair of shoes for my birthday.
I looked for other shoes everywhere but nothing caugt my like like those mary janes did. Then, Doms asked me if I wanted to go visit ukay shops in Cubao Ex or in Anonas to look for stuff (shoes specifically. Of course I said yes.
So after a surprise good morning at Doms’s house, we went to Cubao Ex and looked at shops. Err.. too expensive. The most interesting shop was the Solidaridad (huh? I forgot the name) shop where you can have made-to-order boots. I love their designs but it was too expensive for my capacity.
After eating at Wendy’s with Doms’s boyfriend, I went to Anonas alone. After misadventures on how to get there (LOL, I was geographically challenged that day). I entered a shop and DUN DUN DUN… BOOTS!
Yes, I found a good pair of boots.
Knee-high, black suede Samuel something (the name of the designer) shoes. And it’s only 2 inches high! And I only paid 265 pesos! Well, let’s add P20 for having a tiny feature fixed. I wore the boots the next day.
I also bought a lace skirt (for my costumes) and two pairs of pants for the boyfriend. All in all, I think I spent around 400 pesos for that trip. Including transportation.
What I loved about Anonas ukay shops is that they’re all situated in a four-storey building. I think there were around 20 shops in that building, offering a wide range of clothes. A shop even offers CK items though I’m not sure of they’re original. I suggest that if you ukay shoppers have time, try to go there. Its worth while and with a little patience, I think you’ll find lots of things to buy.
The day after the trip…
I got sick. Got too tired I guess. LOL
I’ll be posting pics of the boots as soon as I get them from Uretz and Doms (who kindly took photos for me).

You have to ride the LRT2 and get down at Anonas Station. It’s that easy. The shops are right beside the station so you wont miss it.
And yes, I’m from Masci.
Thanks for the info! Will check it out this thursday. Batch 2005? Batch 2004 here. *grin*

Posted by mimi at January 17, 2010, 3:13 pmHi Mimi! I’ve only been to Novaliches for ukay-ukay once, so I’m don’t really know where the shops are. The ones I know are those near Bayan.
Thanks for visiting!

How do you get to the Anonas Ukay shops? If you’ve been geographically challenged that day, I have been one for my entire life. *grin* BTW, I’ll send you some pic once I got the clothes washed up. =) I’m just curious, but did you study at Masci?
