Ukay Stores!
January 12, 2009I received an e-mail from a girl named Maiki and it reads:
Hi!
Just saw your blog on the net as I was searching around for some ukay ukay information.
My friend and I are planning to shop some bags on ukay ukay stores. This will be our first time!
I was first introduced ukay ukay on our trip to bagio when I was just around 15 years old. My mom went back to Baguio recently and she brought some good finds! Like 3 designer bags and 2 jackets!
So I am not really new to ukay ukay, but I’ve never devoted time for it and right now I really want to explore the Ukay world.
Hope you don’t mind if I ask you which stores you recommend here in Manila? Hope you could provide the name and exact location, so my friend and I can plan out our trip soon:)
Thanks for your help sis!! More power to ukay ukay!!!

Hello there! Before I begin, I have to apologize for not including the shop names - I don’t really memorize them. But here’s a list of shops that I usually visit:
“Adriatico” Shop
Okay, this shop isn’t exactly in Adriatico. My friend introduced me to this shop one night and she called it “the big Adriatico shop.” I just realized my mistake when I toured the ukay neighborhood last Saturday.
You can see this shop at the corner of Sta. Monica street and Mabini street. To get there, go to Robinson’s Manila and proceed to Sta. Monica Entrance at Padre Faura Wing. There’s a taxi bay there. There’s a street directly in front of Sta. Monica Entrance (Adriatico street). Walk towards that direction until you reach Mabini street. You’ll easily see this shop because it’s huge. You can also get there by walking along Padre Faura until you reach Mabini street (there’s a 711 there). Walk to the left until you reach Sta. Monica street.

Faura Shop 1
You can easily find this shop along Padre Faura (right before Mabini street). We usually visit this shop for some nice clothes. They have a huge collection of bags and boots.
Faura Shop 2
This one’s right across Faura Shop 1. It’s right beside Mercury Drug. They don’t have bags or shoes here, but they have a huge collection of clothes.
Kalaw Shop
I haven’t had time to cisit this shop for photos but it’s a great shop for bags and clothes. To go here, walk along Kalaw (near LRT’s UN Avenue). It’s right across the National Library. Note: There’s a 711 on that street, and it’s not exactly on Kalaw.
I hope this post helps you. Thanks for asking!
(I have more pics but the server keeps timing out so…)

Hey! Thanks a lot for answering my question
I’ll get back to you once my friend and I go there
You’re welcome Maiki! Thanks for asking.
Hi! I wanted to go to the Adriatico shop but I got lost. From the Sta. Monica Entrance, do I walk along the Sta. Monica Street to get to Mabini St.? And is it far from Adriatico? Around more than 3 blocks? Thanks a lot! This is actually my first time to go to an ukay-ukay and your site really inspired me!
Posted by Airis at February 7, 2009, 2:34 pmHi there! Yep, you should walk along Sta. Monica until you get to Mabini. I think its around 2 blocks away from Rob.
Update me if you get there.
I found it! I didn’t see at at my first try because I went there during the night so it was pretty dark. I thought it was across the street but it was actually on the left cor so I didn’t notice it. It was pretty hard not to buy anything! I had great finds when I went there. I found a denim skirt with lace coverings. My friend said it was a runway look. *grin* A floral lace blouse, did you see the trend? hehe =) A yellow beaded bohemian blouse, a purple printed with metal beads bohemian skirt, and a white-collared blouse with a comic strip print! I think that last one was something from Japan, and it was love at first sight. ^^, Just perfect for the hot summer. There were rows and rows of bags but alas, my wallet can’t take the hit. I got out of there completely broke but satisfied. Thanks for posting this! =)
Posted by Airis at February 12, 2009, 10:43 pmYay! I’m glad you had fun. Can you post/send me some pics of your finds?
hi! i am also interested in buying some new ukay2 stuff. how much are their denim skirts? and how do i get to robinson’s manila, if i’m living in makati? sorry, but im not really familiar with that place… thanks for the reply…
Posted by Lori at March 2, 2009, 3:27 amDenim skirts (during new arrivals) are around 150+, I’m not sure though. I usually buy my stuff when they’re on sale. Some shops sell denim skirts for 50pesos or less, so you have to watch out.
To go to Robinson’s Manila from Makati, you can take LRT Line 1 from EDSA station (or Libertad) then go to Pedro Gil station. You can get to Rob by walking along Pedro Gil towards Manila Bay. Don’t worry, you won’t get lost here.
Hi there. I’m really happy reading your blogs and finding your site. I’d like to ask if all those shops near Robinson’s Place Manila have designer clothes. Thanks much!
Posted by Tawni at April 11, 2009, 12:37 pmHi Tawni! I sometimes find several designer clothes there but they’re kind of hard to find (well, it would be easy if you know your brands…). One of my friends got a vintage designer dress (forgot the name) once.
hello there!.
I really love your site. I am also an ukay ukay queen. Well that’s how they call me because I love scouring ukay2 stores. I got a lot of branded shirts and pants for bargain prices. Some shirts I got at 20 pesos with brands like roxy, cherokee and hurley. They are great finds.
This post is particularly informative as I have never been in Manila. I am planning to go there next year to get some great finds and your blog is the perfect tourist guide. Thanks a lot. and God bless our endeavors!
Posted by proserpina at December 29, 2009, 9:47 amHello! I’m glad you liked my post.
I’ve never been particular to brands, but its always fun when I find branded clothes. The last one I got was an Anna Sui blouse (haven’t posted it yet).
Keep on reading!
