Baguio Goodies Part 1: Knee-length Boots

April 22, 2009

This is one of my best finds in Baguio. Black knee-length boots made of leather-like material. It has a furry lining inside (cheetah print, haha!) and the heels are 2.5 inches high. It’s in good condition, looks like it’s unused. There’s only a certain part near the foot where some stupid person put a piece of sticker which damaged the leather.

Baguio Playgrounds: Hilltop

To us ukay shoppers, Baguio is one of the best places to buy stuff. Many shops here in Manila get their stocks from Baguio so getting there would probably feel like getting inside the stockrooms of department stores. That’s why I insisted on going on an ukay trip, good thing my cousin-in-law (Ate Mitch) knows the place.

The first shop we visited was near Maharlika. It’s pretty much sophisticated, they have tons and tons of designer brands. Ate Mitch even found Dolce and Gabbana and Louis Vouitton bags. Unfortunately, I’m not that interested in designer stuff. And they’re too expensive for me.

Next stop was a place called Hilltop. Mind you, it’s practically a market place (well it is beside a marketplace). Tons of people and tons of things to buy. I got most of my finds here.

Where was I? Oh…

April 12, 2009

Hi there! Sorry I haven’t posted anything for the past few weeks. I was on TURO (Temporary Ukay Restraining Order - as my boyfriend and I call it) during my thesis weeks, so I’ve got nothing to post. But God, I miss shopping. And now that everything’s set and done (I’m graduating!!!), it’s time to treat myself.

We went to Baguio this Holy Week. Yay! It’s the perfect chance to visit the infamous Baguio ukay grounds. what made it more fun is that my mom shouldered my shoppin. Yay! (free clothes ninuninu ohohohoho)

I got several vests (again), and two pairs of boots. Oh, and I also got a blue blue and white lolita costume - yet another addition to my ukay-found costumes. I’ll be posting pics in a few days, got to wash them and ‘model’ my new stuff.

SHARE!: Word got to my relatives that I shop for ukay stuff, and they couldn’t believe that I get those clothes for such cheap prices.  My cousin-in-law, who only shops for branded (so-called class A) and basically expensive stuff from ukay shops, couldn’t believe that I get high quality branded boots and clothes for low prices.

On our second day in Baguio, she asked me to join her to go ukay hunting. That’s when I got two vests and a lace dress.Oh, I also got the boots.

On our third day, I asked my mom to go to SM Baguio with me. Guess what, we went to the ukay place first! She asked me to look for certain stuff. We spent an hour or so there (it was tiring!) then went to SM.So now they’re using me. Haha.
