Ukay-ukay Escapades at iBlog5!
May 11, 2009I’m not a snob, please. Just awkward.
Haha, I went to iBlog5 to attempt to meet people, and maybe promote my site (which I did!). But I failed at the meeting people part. Oh yes, I’m awkward at first meetings, and I’m really bad at starting a conversation. Really. I’m a failure at socializing. Boohoo.
I really planned my outfit for the event. If I were to promote my blog, I should at least dress up for it.
Outfit: gray dress by JOY, ukay-ukay @Libertad;black garter corsette, handmade; “Harajuku” boots, ukay-ukay @Monumento; and black bonnet from Baguio.
The gray dress is made of cotton. If you look closer, it actually looks like a sack because the cloth itself has big threads (I have no idea how to describe it, so just imagine a sack of potatoes). I also like the modern-ish print.
The corsette is made out of a single garter and some thin satin ribbon. Here’s the back detail:
You can slightly see the texture of my dress here. Oh, and the dress actually a bit itchy.
Remember the trenchcoat I was talking about months ago (if I did blog about it)? I also brought it along that day. Rainy days are here:
This is the 35 peso trenchcoat I got in Pasay last year. It’s a bit heavy but it does keep me dry on rainy days.
If you’re wondering about the price of the whole outfit, let me just say that its around 250 pesos. No kidding.

Wow, haha. Thanks! *glee*
I went to your blog, pero ang hirap magiwan ng comment (esp the address part - can’t just give it away you know). We interviewed Sen. Roxas’ lawyers (in place of the Senator who was very busy during that time) last year for our practicum and I learned a lot about him.
PS. The Mar Roxas icon on the mouse is really cute.
you rock ^^ \m/ nice meeting you there at iblog… ahaha.. i am a failure too when it comes to socialization.. nadala lang me sa mga kasama ko.. haha..

Posted by Miles at May 17, 2009, 7:57 pmYou definitely make a fashion statement… Me and my friends, recently has been craving for that much needed ukay-ukay excitement.. Last Thursday, I was dead broke since I saw this cute pair of pants that I can’t seem to pass up…
@Miles: I’ll be posting instructions about the shops in Libertad and Monumento in a few days. I just need to take pics.
@Carrie: Thanks! It’s really hard to pass up on great finds. Especially if it’s cheaper than usual. That’s what’s great about ukay-ukay, you get to buy good clothes at a lower price.
Posted by ukayukayescapades at May 18, 2009, 7:55 pmpromise! i will not divulge your email address! and also, about the mar roxas icon, thanks!

Hi there! Nice to see you there in the iBlog5! Hangang-hanga ako sa ayos mo. I didn’t expect the cost of your outfit that day would only cost P250. Amazing!
