Baguio Goodies Part 2: Kafra Maid
May 18, 2009
Who would’ve thought that I’d find a full maid costume in an ukay-ukay shop?
Remember Ragnarok’s Kafra maids? That was the first thought in my mind when I found this dress while we were in Baguio. I found it in one of those street stalls along Hilltop among children’s clothes. Should I say love at first sight?
The dress says that it’s from California Costume Collections (I don’t know why but the shop’s name has a weird feel). The dress has a built-in petticoat, though I wore another petticoat to make it puffier. The tummy part is adjustable, perfect for days when a little overeating is inevitable. It’s adult small, so it’s a little too big for me. I had to use my corset to make it, err, smaller. The only thing I didn’t like about it is the apron because of the way it was attached to the dress.
I’ll have it adjusted in a few days to make it fit me. I’ll also have to sew on an apron strap to make it look realistic.
Outfit: white lace headband, handmade by my grandma; lace ‘neko’ choker, handmade; maid dress by California Costume Collections, ukay @Baguio; corset, handmade; lace petticoat (not shown) by Chic Simple, ukay @Ermita; white nurse stockings, Oro; and black mary janes fom People are People.

‘Neko’ Choker. Made it myself.
