Plushies!
June 29, 2009I’ve always wanted to make a post about my plushies. I’ve been collecting them since I was born. Seriously, three of my plushies at home are 20 years old. Actually, I never thought I’d collect them. But every time I see a really really cute plushie, I just can’t help but squee.
There’s TONS of plushies at ukay shops. They have teddy bears, cats, dogs, Disney character plushies, and those weird looking Japanese plushies that everybody loves (I guess). Most of them are in good condition, but not many buy plushies at ukay-ukay because they look dirty. They are dirty. I don’t think ukay shop owners wash them before putting them up, which is sad because those plushies would love to have a home.
Anyway, I bought these plushies at a surplus shop in Carriedo. (NOTE: It’s not exactly an ukay-ukay shop because they sell random stuff from kitcheware to baby stuff. Dirt cheap prices though.)
Say hello to my new friends: Kuro-chan and Luna the Plushie
Working! Yay!
June 25, 2009I’ve been working since last Tuesday. And I mean a REAL job.
I’m now working at dotPH. My first three days are quite enjoyable. I get to be online all day (bwahahaha!). Unfortunately, I can’t upload stuff here. That’s what they said. It’s ok though, I can still check a lot of my online accounts and read up about stuff. I’ll just upload pics at a friendly internet shop.
I’ll be uploading a new find next week, so please keep in touch. I really appreciate your comments.
I would also like to take this opportunity to mention a reader who emailed me last May (I know, I know). Her name’s Luisa A, and she was asking about vintage dolls. I’ve been looking at shops but unfortunately, I haven’t seen one either. I think those dolls are too - let’s say sophisticated - to be sold at local ukay shops. And I think they’re collector’s items, so why would one give up their dolls for ukay-ukay right?

The Wonders of Ukay-ukay - Cosplaying at Toycon 2009
June 15, 2009I’m eating nilaga while typing this post. Ohohoho…
As a habit, I wanted to post something for my blog at least once a week, which I’ve been doing for the past few weeks. But there’s nothing new this week. Nada. And I have reasons:
1. I haven’t been out much. Summer vacation means no or limited money which entails that I stay at home most of the time. Having little money also means that I can’t just shop for new ukay finds. Sad.
2. I am still looking for a job. I don’t want to be a bum anymore.
So why the post? Remember the kafra maid outfit I posted a few weeks ago? I wore it to Toycon 2009 yesterday. I cosplayed as Chii. Here’s a picture:

(Warrior) Drummer Girl
June 8, 2009I was a member of the school drum and lyre band when I was in grade school. No, I didn’t play the drums (I play the lyre) but I usually carry my tiny group mate’s big bass drum whenever we go out on parades. I still have my old red uniform.
This jacket reminds me of my band days. I found it at the shop with no name during my Monumento ukay picture-taking. It really looks like a band uniform but the cloth is similar to other regular jackets. It keeps me pretty warm too! Perfect for the rainy season.

Ukay Stores: Monumento
June 1, 2009
I did it! Yay!
I’ve always wanted to make a post about the stores I frequent in Monumento, but I never get to take pictures when I’m there. I got my chance last week when my Mom asked me to buy some stuff. It was a little cloudy, but my camera was still able to get some pics.
How to get to Monumento:
It’s fairly easy to get there. Take LRT Line 1 (Northbound) and get off at Monumento station. The adventure starts here.
