The Wonders of Ukay-ukay - Cosplaying at Toycon 2009

I’m eating nilaga while typing this post. Ohohoho…

As a habit, I wanted to post something for my blog at least once a week, which I’ve been doing for the past few weeks. But there’s nothing new this week. Nada. And I have reasons:

1. I haven’t been out much. Summer vacation means no or limited money which entails that I stay at home most of the time. Having little money also means that I can’t just shop for new ukay finds. Sad.

2. I am still looking for a job. I don’t want to be a bum anymore.

So why the post? Remember the kafra maid outfit I posted a few weeks ago? I wore it to Toycon 2009 yesterday. I cosplayed as Chii. Here’s a picture:

It’s basically the same outfit, I just added a wig, the Chii ears, and a lace headband. Pretty neat right?

I went there with my boyfriend, Bernard, who was “cosplaying”, er, he dressed up as a school boy. His coat here was from an ukay-ukay shop in Libertad. I lol everytime someone asks him for a photo.

I also met up with a friend, who cosplayed as Willy Wonka. I made the hat he wore (he bought it from me, monies!). And as another ukay twist, his purple jacket came from ukay-ukay too! Haha, the wonders of ukay-ukay.

Toycon was fun. I drooled over all the ball jointed dolls I saw (Alodia’s dolls were on display) and my Bernard bought me some tiny plushies! And I saw the Patapon cosplay group! So cute.

I love plushies.

So there. I’m still waiting for job calls, la la la, and I hope I can put up a proper post next week. PON PON PATA PON!
