Make-up Trial
July 27, 2009Early last week, Liz gave me this:

(taken from a thread at www.forum.lowyat.net)
Last Friday, I got the Fashion 21 liquid eyeliner (no pics yet). So, to prepare for Sunday’s loli photoshoot at UP Diliman, I did a little make-up practice the next day. Here’s my little ‘achievement’:
Nothing much on my face, just my Maybelline Foundation (a gift from my aunt), the elf eyeshadow, and the eyeliner. I still have a lot more to practice, but I was happy that I got to apply the liquid eyeliner properly.

Purple Cardigan
Remember my Cubao Ukay Escapade last week? Here’s one of my finds. My Mom calls this ‘Lola cardigan’.
(it doesn’t look purple in this pic - lol. Ima gtake another pic when I’m outside)

Cubao Escapade Preview
July 21, 2009I went to Cubao last night for a late ukay-ukay escapade. Not exactly a good idea for a tiny girl to walk alone in Cubao (READ: hold-ups, snatchers, lalala) but hey, I got some stuff.

On My Lace Dress and Skirts
July 20, 2009I got this dress/top from our Baguio trip, and I’ve always wanted to post it since I really like it. But for some weird reason, I couldn’t come up with a good outfit. Heck, My brother and I already shot this dress twice and for some reason, I don’t really like how it comes out of my camera. But I’ve been lazy, so I’ll just put it out here:
(over exposed. haha)

Shoe Frustration
July 17, 2009Okay, so I’m getting frustrated about getting a shoe.
I intended to buy myself a new pair of shoes after my first pay day, but it’s been a week and I couldn’t bring myself to grab a cute pair of ballet flats and take it to the cashier. I’ve been looking at shop displays, department stores, but still - na da.
Last Wednesday, out of frustration, I decided to walk all over SM Megamall after work. After an hour of aimlessly window shopping, I decided to go home and boarded an ordinary bus to Monumento. I haven’t been on a long ride on an ordinary bus, so I took a chance to ponder about things. Here’s what I figured out:

Day-out at Trinoma
July 13, 2009My boyfriend and I went to Trinoma yesterday. It was my turn to give him a treat because *glee* I got my first pay! Yay!
I wore my gray dress without a belt - which was quite weird because I looked shapeless (my Mom said, “anak, daster*?”). It was really hot and wearing a corset will make it, er, warmer inside my clothes. Meh. It looks good though.
But this post is not about my dress. It’s about my ‘lola’ bolero!
(hence the sepia tone.lol)

On Make-up and Google Reader
July 8, 2009It’s 6:40 and I’m supposed to get ready to go home, but I just wanted to post about something. Teehee.
I’m not a big fan of make-up. My friend, Liz loves make-up. She’s the one who gave me my first palette (which I use a lot - special occasions and photoshoots call for this palette) and has taught me a lot about make-up. I figured that it’s very useful, but still, I’m not yet that hooked.
BUT, since I’m cosplaying something pretty big this year, I decided to actually BUY some make-up. Not those expensive brands, I’m going to start small.
With Liz’s help, she pointed out stuff that I would really use (and are within my budget). I’ll show them to you when I get them. Hello eyeliner.
Also, I started using Google Reader, which is very, very useful since it keeps me updated with the blogs I follow. I recommend that you use this too.
I’m heading home now. Toodles!
DBS Cosplay-Catwalk Event
July 6, 2009Reminisce!
I’ve been cosplaying for more than a year now. I first started by putting together stuff I got from ukay-ukay just to make a loli outfit. Now, I’m actually spending money to buy new costumes. It’s like a little addiction, collecting costumes, wearing them to events, taking pictures… it’s fun.
Last year, the Behavioral Sciences Society held a Cosplay+Catwalk even and I gladly particiapted for my org (OMAKE) and to show off my favorite costume (my creative shot for our grad pic). I already mentioned that outfit twice in this blog, but just last night, I saw some pictures from the same event:
This is Ting with his “best friend” Parkson. This was taken before the “show your personality through your outfit” catwalk. See that dress/top I’m wearing? That’s from ukay-ukay. Lulz. It was love at first sight when I saw that top, it has little embroidered detailing in the middle (buttons) and it’s long enough to be used as a dress. It has a drawstring part in the middle to make it shorter.
