Shoe Frustration

July 17, 2009

Okay, so I’m getting frustrated about getting a shoe.

I intended to buy myself a new pair of shoes  after my first pay day, but it’s been a week and I couldn’t bring myself to grab a cute pair of ballet flats and take it to the cashier. I’ve been looking at shop displays, department stores, but still - na da.

Last Wednesday, out of frustration, I decided to walk all over SM Megamall after work. After an hour of aimlessly window shopping, I decided to go home and boarded an ordinary bus to Monumento. I haven’t been on a long ride on an ordinary bus, so I took a chance to ponder about things. Here’s what I figured out:

1. I’ve rarely buy something brand new for myself.

2. I feel conscious  about spending my money. Yeah, I do.

3. I grew up knowing that money is hard to earn, so it’s never easy for me to just buy whatever.

4. I feel that shoes are expensive.

I know, this is pathetic. I want to get it over with though. Besides, I really, really need a new pair of shoes since I’ve been wearing my sneakers and my harajuku boots almost every day. I need to give them a break. I have to convice myself to buy a shoe!

Shoe requirements:

1. Must be heavy duty. I walk a lot so I need a shoe that can withstand major walking.

2. And since I walk a lot, I need flats.

3. Price issue. We all know that.

4. The shoe must somehow withstand rain. Not that I’ll wear the shoe through flood waters, but I need one that’s  sturdy enough.

5. The color must be suitable for anything - black in short. Though I want a red pair, for a change.

There. Any suggestions?

something to fit your requirements: Happy Feet Sneakers. I wear them with everything, and if you don’t plan on wading through flood, then they’re okay in the rain too…I already wore out my frist pair and am in need of another, hehehehe, in black again, or maybe in red this time? :)

Oh! Happy feet! :D My Dad wanted to buy me one of those Happy Feet slippers (’bakya’) back in college but they kind of felt awkward - now I feel guilty that I didn’t get them!

How long did you sneakers last? If it lasted yera, then it’s a really good investment (since I’m a sneakers girl).
