The modu phone Now Available in the Philippines

September 18, 2009

I’ve been using a Nokia 1112 fot the last two years. I like it since its small and fully functional. And cheap. It’s not very fashionable though. I rarely take it out when I’m in some formal event. Not that I’m shy about it - I really like my phone, but I would love it more if it looks better.

That’s why I liked the new modu phone.

I got my very own unit last night at its little launch at Greenbelt 5. Media people and bloggers were invited to this special event. I’ll post more about the event itself later (after I grab pictures, teehee..).

My new phone kit complete with a Globe Tattoo simcard, a charger, in-ear earphones, a PC installer and a USB connector.

The modu phone is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s lightest fully functional phone. And yeah, it really is small! My tiny hands looked big when I took a pic of the phone.

Doesn’t look like a cellphone eh?

modu has a unique seven-key keypad and a 1.3″ screen. It’s also packed with 2GB internal memory, perfect for keeping songs and images. I’ve been fumbling with this phone since last night and I really liked it. It’s compact size is perfect for any occasion, beautiful yet not very flashy. I can take it out to text even if I’m on the train without worrying about snatchers.

Another plus for this phone is that you can customize its looks and functions with its jackets!

The modu jackets - Express (first two) and the mini jacket.

There are several different jackets for the modu phone. Express and mini jackets basically change the looks of the phone - it’s like having a new cellphone everytime you attach the modu to its jackets! modu also other jackets such as its night jackets - equipped with a 3.2 megapix camera with flash, sport jackets - equipped with a pedometer and an armband (perfect for health concious people!). I’ll be posting mode about their jackets next time.

Me holding a black Mini Jacket and Liz with the red Express Jacket. I want the red one~

The new modu phone is now exclusively available at your nearest Globe center. For the price of 7,999, you’re sure to get a really cool and fashionable phone without straining your budget. Also, when you get one now, you’ll get a  free Express Jacket  and a year’s worth of Globe’s Immortal TXT (YAY!). For postpaid plans, you can get the phone for 500php per month (FREE at plan 1,200).

modu phones are available in black (as seen here), mettalic blue, pearl white and hot pink. For more details, you can go to your nearest Globe center or call (02)7301000.

For now, I’ll go play with my new phone. More reviews later!

Posted by Behbot at November 14, 2009, 10:52 pm

Hi Ronnie! There’s an available jacket for a camera. You have to buy it separately though.

And about the memory card - well, modu doesn’t have a memory card slot. But don’t worry, it has a built-in 2GB memory so it’ll take you a while to fill that up with songs and images

@Behbot: Each modu phone comes with a free express jacket. :)

@nel: I usually use it without a jacket since it’s not my ‘main’ phone right now.

Hi! I usually charge mine after two days (of heavy mp3 use). Not sure about calls though, I still use my Nokia for regular phone stuff.
