Mega Masquerade Tomorrow!
October 30, 2009Now, if the weather cooperates with us creatures who wants to attend this event, I’ll be going in this outfit:

I’m too lazy to think of a carnival-worthy outfit, and I don’t want to dish out my Emeraude costume just yet (God, I’m itching to wear that costume again!) so I’ll just wear this one. I’ll be modifying some features though, maybe use a different headdress and add some accessories (that I’ll rush later tonight). And oh, I’ll also try to style my wig.
Actually, I wanted to cosplay this character:

Template Experiments
October 27, 2009I take advice seriously. So when Liz told me that the old template I use (which I like, by the way) is too emo/looks too much like a personal blog, I decided to try out other available templates. Hey, I could use a little change of view - add some color to my very white template and maybe a header image.
Right now, I’m experimenting with stuff, so please bear with me changing templates for the next few days. I’ll also edit some of the pics I used in my previous posts to make them usable as header images.
Suggestions, anyone?
Packing for Cosplay: What to Bring (Part 2)
October 26, 2009Okay, now that we’re done with the things we have to have in our bags, let’s consider the other things we have to bring: ourselves. :3
Rule Number 3: Dress Light
Here’s my outfit last Saturday:
I’m not a sad kitteh, m’kay? I just hate flashies.

Packing for Cosplay: What to Bring (Part 1)
Packing bags is difficult - for me I guess. I have this tendency to fill up my bag with things I don’t necessarily need for the day: a pen and notebook in my bag (on non-school days), a plushie, and some random thing. There’s this thing between me and a big bag that makes me want to fill it up. I don’t know. Maybe I’m a robber in my past life. Anyway, this post is about packing bags for cosplay events. This post will be very useful to cosplayers who have to commute to conventions EVERY SINGLE TIME.
I attended the Hetalia Philippines Day lat Saturday. It was the perfect chance to take pics for this particular post. So, yeah, hello Taiwan costume.
Rule Number 1: The Bag
Aside from your costume, you have to bring along other stuff that you’ll use for the day. The key is choosing the right bag - something small and handy, preferrably a sling bag that matches the color of your costume. Why a sling bag? It’s easier to lug around while posing or taking photos. It also enables you to freely access your things - that is, if you are not wearing heavily detailed armored costumes like Iron Man or something. Imagine Iron Man with a sling bag.
Since I don’t have a white or pink sling bag for my Taiwan costume, I just grabbed the only white bag we have at home. Fortunately, it met the small and handy standard:

A not so casual look
October 22, 2009Theme: Casual
Model: Me!
Venue: Chinese and Japanese Garden
Photographer & PP: E
Date: October 17, 2009
When E said casual, I was thinking about plain shirt-pants-chucks (or something like that). So the night before the shoot, I rummaged through my available clothes (most of my clothes are in the laundry basket - the others are still at our old house) and took out these:
Err… Keeping it simple..
My outfit’s pretty simple. I just wanted to have that carefree casual look with a little edge.

Saturday Shoot (part 2)
October 19, 2009I likey.

Our ‘product shot’
My brooch set on the lace-metal bracelet I posted last week (Weekend Creations). I like how it looks on my wrist, though I would still have to make some changes on the chains to make them ‘fall’ better.
I did my ‘make-up’ for this one - actually I only had the liquid eyeliner, pressed powder and tinted lip balm on my face. Thank God for my skin! Also, the brooch neatly covered a pimple on my chin, lol.

Outfit shots aren’t available yet, but here’s a pic from the available album:

Weekend Creations
October 12, 2009A few weeks ago, Liz made some really nice bangles (see them here) and I got pretty inspired to make one. So after fetching some bracelet-making stuff for Liz, I decided to play with my sewing materials and came up with this:
A very basic wire-lace bangle. I promise, it looks better than this photo. More after the jump!
Philippine Blog Awards
October 9, 2009I’ll be going to the Philippine Blog Awards 2009 Awards Night later at PETA Theater in Quezon City. Why?
look for it… the seventh name under the best fashion blog category… (or click on the screencap for a larger view)
I’m a finalist for the best fashion blog! Yay! I didn’t want to make fuss out of it, and I’m pretty sure that I won’t win (just look at the other finalists!) but I’m happy that I got in.
Eee! :3
Camouflage Boots
October 8, 2009I’m on this constant hunt for a new pair of boots. I’ve been over-using my black Hara boots, and I think I should give it a break. My target: flat black boots that I can wear to work.
After grabbing two kilos of rabbit pellets and a bag of sawdust from Cartimar last Saturday, Bernard and I decided to go on an ukay hunt at Libertad. He rummaged through pants while I look at skirts and dresses. And boots. We left five shops empty handed. There was one last shop I wanted to visit, that particular shop that sells mostly shoes. By some luck, they were on sale and I found these *dun dun dun*:
Green camouflage boots? Eh?
