Weekend Creations
October 12, 2009A few weeks ago, Liz made some really nice bangles (see them here) and I got pretty inspired to make one. So after fetching some bracelet-making stuff for Liz, I decided to play with my sewing materials and came up with this:
A very basic wire-lace bangle. I promise, it looks better than this photo. More after the jump!
When worn. Yes, I have really thin (and a lil hairy) arms.
It looked pretty plain (though love how it looks on my arm, er, upper arm) so I decided to make a flower ornament out of ribbon and lace to add some detail to this bangle. After twisting and thinking about how that Ate from Divisoria made those wedding souvenirs (those things with tulle and ribbon), ended up with this piece:
Now this is the brooch form. I attached it to some pins and chains, then added some of my metal trinkets. I’m not yet done with this piece, I’m still making adjustments to that ribbon flower to make it versatile so that I can use it as a brooch or as a bangle ornament. I also have to look for better pins (stainless steel ones) and maybe some glue to help me make things looks wee better. And Maybe I should look for my other set of faux pearls (off white pearls that looks better than these three I attached).
Chain detail.
What do you think?

Hi Bianca! I’m actually thinking about getting brass chains and lockets on my next visit to my supplier. I’ll keep you updated when I get some.
