My Little Wishlist

November 25, 2009

Christmas (and New Year!) is just a few weeks away. So I figured I could make a little list of what  would love to have for the holidays - not that someone could actually get me these things. Okay, these aren’t exactly what I want others to give me. They’re more like what I want to have by next year.

1. Sewing Machine!

http://www.sewingmachines.us/sewing-machine-636.jpg http://www.glorygrace.org/images/Sewing%20Machine.jpg

I’ve always wanted to have one. Now that I’m done doing a ’sewing machine dramu’ post on my other blog, I can just post this here and be happy about dreaming about this little contraption.I’m planning to get one next year (the sooner, the better!)

I’m not very particular about the brand - no, actually, I want a Singer.  We have a 59 year-old Singer sewing machine at home, but its not working due to age and because Ondoy made it swim. So I want my own Singer sewing machine. But since Singer is a very expensive brand, I’d probably settle for Brother, or whatever my wallet would allow me to have. As long as its working, durable and easy to use.

2. Camera!

http://laughingsquid.com/wp-content/uploads/canon-g11-20090819-091216.jpg

*evil laugh* No, I can’t afford this little thing. But I would love to have a new camera to replace our old, almost dying camera at home. A camera that can take good photos at night even without a flash (I hate flashies). A camera that gives high-res photos. Something compact and easy to lug around. It also has to be heavy duty and can withstand massive camwhoring sessions.

Dream on. Lol.

3. A laptop!

http://bujirox.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/acer-laptop1.jpg

Well, I don’t exactly need this one since we have a fast PC at home (yay for Dual Core!). But I would love to have one so I can keep my photos and photoshop creations from siblings who like to steal my files. Yeah, yeah, I do have a 2GB flashdrive, but what if I lose it? Also, 2GB is not much for photos and other pertinent files!  I would also love to have one so I don’t have to wait for 30 minutes for my brother’s DOTA game to finish.

4. Tablet!

 http://media.laptoplogic.com/data/news/images/4148/wacom_tablet.jpg

I first ‘touched’ one of these things when I went to a little Wacom tablet seminar a few conventions back. And boy, I fell in love. These things make life easier for aspiring artists! I can almost imagine how easy coloring manga should be with this one. oh, oh! I’d love to draw my short comic strips with it, color them, edit photos… La la la~

5. Boots!

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2510/3941554355_b1017f6426_o.jpg

I first saw this pair over at The Coveted and I’ve been in love ever since! She wears these with everything, everywhere! I would love to have one like this (or something like this). I mean, come on, its perfect! Black, studded, with heels, and has the perfect length. Love it!

Btw, the boots on the photo is from Aldo. Expensive. I will most probably go with something cheaper.

6. A Big Black Bag

Remember the NY&C bag I got a few months ago? I accidentally damaged the leather and I can’t use it anymore (haven’t fixed it yet). So I want a new one.

I want a black bag since it goes with almost anything. I can bring it to work, to meet-ups - wherever! I want the bag to be roomy, heavy duty (something that could carry all my stuff), and easy to carry.

That’s it for my (little) big wish list! Now, I have to work hard to get these. Ganbatte!

PS. Notice the dominant color of my wishlist?

Hi guys!

November 21, 2009

There’s a little problem with my blog. My dashboard says I’ve exceeded my bandwidth - which is strange since I don’t have that much traffic to actually exceed the 2048MB limit for the month. Anyway, I’ll have this checked on Monday when I get back to the office (ah, the perks of working for your blog host). Please be patient for now.

Thanks!

I don’t know why I’m spreading the word. Heck, you’ll even see this post on my other blogs. Let’s just say that I’m happy to have spent six years with the guy I love so much.

Happy anniversary B! I love you.

Long Overdue Post: Philippine Blog Awards

November 16, 2009

Today (or probably this week) is Long Overdue Post Day (Week)! There are a lot of posts that I should’ve done weeks ago but haven’t due to laziness. Anyway, for this post, let me show you a tidbit of what happened during the Philippine Blog Awards 2009.

NOTE: This is a rushed post. Expect typos and grammatical errors. Lol.

I went to PETA theater with fellow finalist Ade. Oh, I also tagged my boyfriend along, who was more excited than I am about the awars night thing. After a bus-mrt-cab-turned-tricycle adventure, we somehow arrived at the venue on time. We sat at the back of the theater with Ms. Noelle, Marck, Marcelle and other people whose names I forgot.

I’m surprised and happy that I made the cut for the finals:

Non-ukay Post: The Fabric Warehouse

November 13, 2009

I feel guilty.

I usually post things like this on my personal blog. But it’s kind of fashion related so I guess this post should be here.

***

I’m cosplaying a new character on the AME convention on November 28. Yay?

My friends and I are scheduled to meet a seamstress on Saturday, so i need to buy my cloth ASAP. The original plan was to go to Divisoria on Saturday morning, then head to the seamstress in the afternoon. But my instincts told me that: 1. I might wake up late, 2. The extra money I’ll spend on costly mall cloth will be equal to the money I’ll spend on going to Divisoria just to buy cloth, and 3. I still have to buy that special glue for the armor I’m making on Saturday, so I need extra time. Do I make sense here?

My boyfriend, who works in Eastwood, told me that there’s a huge cloth shop near their office.  I figured I could save some time and energy by just going there as opposed to strolling through all fabric shops in SM Mega Mall. After getting money from the bank (teehee), I went there and found this:

This. shop. is. HUGE.

Fashion Delight

November 12, 2009

ANNOUNCEMENT: Girls! Fashion Delight in Cubao will have new arrivals on Saturday, November 14. Get ready to go there on Saturday. There are already preparing for Saturday - I even saw some seemingly interesting pieces while Ate arranged them on racks. Also, lot of clothes are on sale as of the moment - so go there  now!

I didn’t plan to visit them last night. All I wanted last night was to go home and cut up rubber foam sheets for my next cosplay gig. But the boyfriend wanted to see me, so off to Cubao! Of course I couldn’t resist peeking into one of the largest ukay stores in Metro Manila, so I browsed throgh racks and racks of clothes hoping to find something that interests me.

There were several pieces I would love to take home, there was this green military-chic skirt, a long lace skirt that I could transform into a dress, ruffled cardigans… aaand, I wish I had money last night. I forgot to get my money from the bank, and all I have in my wallet is my fare to go to work today. Oh well.

All I got is a gray long sleeved shirt that I’ll use (and abuse) for work. More on that when I get pics later tonight.

I might  I can pass by the shop later (and prolly get some good items). Boyfriend and I will visit this fabric shop somewhere near their office in Eastwood, and I think we can spare a few minutes to visit the shop before riding a bus home.

New Header(s)

November 10, 2009

I think I like this template. I get to have a huge photo of me as a header (lol), plus I have tons of wallpapers to choose from. I particularly like this wall paper: it has this vintage-girly feel. It’s not the best wallpaper though, I have other favorites that unfortunately, doesn’t suit the color schemes available in this template. Oh well.

I slept late last night, tinkering with my old photos. I have an idea for a header, but I don’t have time to take new pics. After an hour of browsing through files (and eventually losing the artsy stuff I had in mind), I came out with three cropped photos.

Header 1

Header 2

Header 3

I like header 1 best, but its too dramatic for an ukay blog. I have to resist putting that up (must.resist.temptation.). Header 3 is so-so, my eyebags disturb me in that one. Header 2 pretty much fits the part. Its also one of my favorite outfits ever. I wish I had boots that time, the outfit could’ve been perfect.

So for now, I’ll stick with this design.  What do you think?

PS. Header 1 was taken from our Urban Legends shoot. Photo by Gian. (sorry for cropping out your logo!)

Random Find: Wind-up Alarm Clock

November 4, 2009

On my way home last week, I passed by an unfamiliar store with a pink hanbok (a traditional Korean dress) display outside. Curious, I checked out the shop and lo, tons of second-hand stuff from Korea! Too bad I don’t have our camera that night, could’ve taken some pics. I think I have to do a post about these Korean thrift shops, there are three in the Monumento area right now.

There were cups, linen, semi-ornate metal chopsticks (I’m going back for these), figurines, plushies plus more random items you can use at home. It was a small store but I spent at least 15 minutes browsing through stuff. Of all those things, I got myself this:

Photobucket

A wind-up alarm clock, a noisy darn thing to wake me up in the morning. I’ve always wanted to have one, but they’re hard to find (we have ebay, but I don’t like buying items off the internet). Well, it’s not the real thing - I had to get an AA battery for this one. But it works just the same! And its cheap too!
