Happy Holidays Everyone!
December 28, 2009Yay holidays! Yay 4 day vacation! I wanted to spend those four days lounging around our house, sew, learn how to crochet and play Sims 2. Fail. We had to go here and there, attend parties and whatnots - and I’m not complaining! I love holidays. I did learn how to crochet and played Sims 2. I also scarfed down lots of ham, bacon, lechon, and leche flan. Hello weight gain.
NOTE: This is a random post. My mind’s still on vacation.
Here’s some pics of me wearing the red JSK (taken during the Evil Family Day).
Ooh, I wish I own this camera. I got to take photos with this baby while its owner is playing Pinoy Henyo.Notice how the white blouse compliments the JSK. I also had to wear my corset to hide a tiny imperfectionI forgot to fix.

Christmas Toycon 2009: Shinku
December 22, 2009I’m so glad they convinced me to do this.
Shinku from Rozen Maiden
A few weeks ago, my friends asked me to join their Rozen Maiden group cosplay. I was hesitant at first, since I just had my Shanoa costume and i’m afraid I’m spending too much money on my costumes. But after a few days of YM convos and texts, I gave in and had this costume made. And its soo worth it.
The dress looked good on me. They even said that I looked extra kiddie with my oversized cape plus the general look - which is good since Shinku’s a doll. The character fits me well too. I love plushies and treat them like my kids. I also like to try things differently. The only huge difference is that Shinku’s always on time - I’m not.
I had to send back my costume right after the event for some alterations. Other than that, the dress loks perfect! It looks just like the Shinku’ dress.
Thank you guys for convincing me to do this Shinku cosplay! I love it.
More photos after the jump (photospam alert!)!

My new doll <3
December 21, 2009FINALLY! I FOUND HER!

Her name’s Lilith. I got her from Toycon yesterday.
I wanted to have the one with glass eyes, her head’s skintone is different from her body. So I looked at other dolls and saw her. Red eyes, red lips, black hair - perfect! She has some defects though, her arms aren’t perfectly moveable and she has two left feet! Lol, she ‘literally’ can’t dance. Also, her eyes are painted. Its ok though, I can have her parts fixed next time.
Another fact about Lilith: she’s anatomically correct. YAAAY!
I asked the stall owner if they have other dolls at their shop and she said yes. I asked for their number and I might go there by January to get a glass eyed doll. YAY!
Random Find: Red Neko JSK
Three weeks ago, I went to Novaliches with my friend Sayou to have a costume made. She told me there were several ukay shops there, so I asked her to give me a little tour.
There were a LOT of lolita clothes! I swear, I couldn’t cotain myself with all the things I found. And they’re really cheap! It’s a little out of the way, but I love their selection, so I’d probably go back there when I have the time.
This is my favorite find:
Red JSK with cat prints.

Doll Obsession: Liv Doll
December 9, 2009I’ve been obssessed about dolls for quite some time. I want to make clothes for dolls, dress them up, take photos, then make more doll clothes! But I don’t want some doll with only one pose, I want a poseable and realistic doll. Ball jointed dolls are first on my list:

Shall of Dream of Doll. So pretty right?
These BJDs are cult favorites, and is one of the most coveted collector items in the cosplay world. These dolls are way too expensive. I know several people who collects these dolls, and they never disclose how much they spend on these babies since they’re THAT expensive. Meh, I’d rather buy a laptop than buy one of these. So to vent-out my frustration, I dressed up my mannequin Jack-Jack a few months ago:
Shoe Find: Suede Flats
December 3, 2009I have no idea how to call this shoe:
Hairy legs, eh?
Finally, I managed to squeeze in a little ‘photo-op’ time with my recent finds last night. The camera died on me a bit too early to take pics of my other stuff, so I only have a few photos of this shoe. I got it during an ukay run with Liz for Ukay Manila. We were browsing through shoes when I found this odd-looking piece.
I fell in love with these when I saw them. Its perfect - black, flat, unique, and it fits me. I also like the military-circus-ey feel of these shoes. I wonder if it’ll go well with this jacket:

Ame no Jidai
December 1, 2009We’ve been planning to do this group cosplay for the past few months, and we finally did it! Say hello to our Castlevania cosplay group:
|
|
From L to R: Kagenoir as Aeon from Castlevania: Judgement, Zhyxres as Soma Cruz from Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, Celestine as Camilla from Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, N as… (I forgot your character~ are you Elizabeth Bartley?), Madz as Shanoa from Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, and Imahica as Stella Lecarde from Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin.
Most of my ‘art’ time for the past three weeks was spent on constructing this costume. By ‘art’ time, I mean 3 to 4 hours on weekends and around an hour or two on weekdays, plus the all nighter the night before the convention itself.
Anyway, I had the dress made by some dressmaker - I have a lot of issues with this person. He made a lot of serious mistakes on my dress! Moving on, I made my armor myself (chest plate, hip armor, shin guard and knee pads) out of rubber sheets, plus the sword. I also had to customize the dress, I attached the fur on my gloves and was supposed to sew on lace on the neckpiece and gloves but ran out of time. I was also supposed to do some more detailing on my armor (repaint the chestplate details, work on the detailing of the rest of the armor) and work on the gold details of the sword. Ah, the essence of cramming.
I will not cram a costume ever again! (more details after the jump!)
