Saturday was a good day: Sisters
March 10, 2010I always look forward to Saturdays. I get to wake up late, do sewing projects, and go out to buy sewing/rabbit supplies or do errands. I also get to spend time with the boyfriend since we can’t meet on weekdays (bah mid-shift schedule).
Last Saturday was a bit more special though. The doll (yes, a doll!) package I ordered from Ms. Winnie Rose Reyes arrived on our doorstep. Yay! I have to admit, I was pretty nervous about this delivery through Air21 thing. There were several horror stories about their services and I was worried that they wouldn’t find our house. Fortunately, the package arrived safely - and on time!
Of course Lilith was there to see the ‘unveiling’ of her sister.
Happy Doll Threads is Ms. Winnie’s online shop for Pullip, Dal, Blythe, and Taeyang accessories. I believe she also sells made-to-order plushies, plus some other art related products. I ran into Ms. Winnie’s Wordpress blog and Multiply Account a few weeks ago after lurking through Pullip Pilipinas. I found out that she’s selling a Volks Neo EB doll at a discounted price, so I happily jumped in and made the order.
First thing I noticed about the package is the huge bubble wrap. I’ve never seen a bubble wrap in this size! *must resist popping bubbles*
The package included some freebies (thanks Ms. WInnie!):
Socks! Lilith and her sister needs these since I still can’t figure out how to make shoes for them. I used this one as a pattern to make my own doll socks. Its pretty easy to figure out the pattern, so I hope I can have a few pairs done before weekend.
The package also have some pairs of eyewear for my dolls. I’m not into shades, so I guess these things will stay in their plastic bag for a while.
Now, say hello to Gaea!
My little girl is nude! Gaea’s a Volks Neo EB-Body, Medium Bust (you call THAT medium?), Natural Skin tone. If her bust’s medium, then Lilith’s bust is probably small.
I made her wear her temporary clothes (handstitched my moi) so she wont be too cold at night. I’m currently stitching up matching dresses for these two, after that I’ll do a mini shoot for them.
Gaea’s face-up was done by Ms. Winnie. I have to admit, I wasn’t really pleased with her face-up at first. I wanted her to have a face similar to Lilith. When I got her first photos, she looked too Barbie-ish for me. No worries Ms. Winnie, I’m starting to like her face-up more. I figured she shows a more ‘human’ look compared to Lilith - now I’m thinking of doing a photostory series of some sort.
What do you think?
PS. Sorry for the doll nudity. Peace!

Hello Dorothy Rose! I got mine from a local seller. She got the doll from the US and was supposed to use it for her Pullip doll but later on decided to sell it instead. Luckily, I found her ad before someone else bought it.
Anyway, you can visit www.volksusa.com (she got my Gaea from this shop). You can also look around ebay for other dolls.
Good luck!
