Mafia

June 24, 2010

I attended this year’s ToyCon hoping to find a third doll for my collection. But I said never mind! when I saw a really really long line to the venue entrance. Jampacked event is jampacked! Oh well, the third doll will have to wait.

Since I’m attending mybest friend’s pre-birthday dinner, I opted to wear something cutesy:

People thought I’m already wearing a costume. Apparently, Kagamine Rin’s Mafia Version almost looks like my outfit:

I should’ve brought my blonde wig instead of carrying a costume. Oh well.

I went as Rei Ayanami of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Sayou *ehem forced ehem jk* asked me to wear her red contacts to complete my costume. It was my first time to wear contacts, so it was a bit scary.  I had no idea how to wear contact, so we asked our friend Meems to do the job. I tell you, she had a hard time fighting my eye reflexes!

Cowboy boots

June 7, 2010

I dropped by Fashion D’Lite at Cubao a few weeks ago and scored a very nice pair of boots at 100 php:

I’m not a big fan of cowboy boots, but given the condition of the pair (its new!), the price, and the fact that it fits perfectly, who wouldn’t buy them?

They’re perfect to wear with skinny jeans, tights or shorts. Now that it’s almost rainy season, I see myself wearing boots almost everyday. Speaking of rainy season, I have to get a good pair of rubber boots (for those flood days), a new pair of rubber slippers, and maybe a new rain jacket. I’m also thinking of leaving a set of clothes in the office just in case. Oh, and I need to get vitamins to ward off sickness in this season.

What are your preparations for the rainy season?

Clean and Simple

June 1, 2010

After receiving the invite for a show for Philippine Fashion Week, I immediately scoured my little closet to look for a decent outfit. It has to be simple, girly, and must suit my black booties (a.k.a. devil shoes) - because its my only pair that can work with the event. Of course, boots would work as well but I don’t feel like wearing them to the show.

After 30 minutes of rummaging through clothes (and after thinking about wearing a vampy outfit instead), I ended up wearing this:

I’ve never worn (almost) all-white before except for special occassions so this is something pretty new. I like how the black corset made me look taller and shapelier.

After the event, I noticed that the soles of my booties are coming off! Its weird since I rarely use this pair and I rarely walk around wearing them (they’re hard to wear, I tell you). Now I’m on the hunt for a new pair of heels, preferrably a pair that looks like my favorite mary janes from People are People (the one I always use for  my gothic lolita outfits)*.

The skirt is a new find from a new ukay shop in Monumento (the tag says Kiss and Miss) while the blouse is from Robinson’s Department Store. The black booties are from LeDonne. Corset is handmade.

* The mary janes retired a few months ago. The soles are still in good shape, so I’m looking for someone who can remake the pair.
